This milk frother is worth any unpaid advertising..

Milk frothers are a dime a dozen: Electric ones for very large quantities of milk. Those with a mini whisk and battery. The manual hand pump frother, the hand whisk, the steam lance on the portafilter. My portafilter machine is currently being repaired, which is a bummer. But making coffee is not the problem. This is what I am struggling with:

How do you get really good milk foam without a steam wand?

To be honest, we think electric milk frothers – even those with a battery – are totally overrated. The frother for the stove is okay, but the milk foam is too watery for me personally. You won’t achieve better results with the hand whisk either – but you will with the Molamano milk frother.

It is basically a two-story whisk that you simply hold in the hot milk and rub between your hands. The foam forms very quickly, becomes firm and does not collapse – and all that without plastic, electricity, or batteries. All you need to do is heat the milk on the stove. Just make sure it doesn’t get too hot (no hotter than 150 °F), otherwise the lactose will burn.

Of course, you can also use it to whisk anything else that needs whisking – vinaigrette, cream, scrambled eggs – just make sure to rinse it really well afterwards (or put it in the dishwasher).

The Molamano is also great for camping or hiking. As it is made of stainless steel, it is also indestructible when you are out and about. And the best thing – apart from the milk foam – is that it is made by people with disabilities in Munich. Which is definitely worth this unpaid advertising.

You can of course find more information about milk and milk foam here on the blog:
