I do not really believe in horoscopes – and still, I read them with growing excitement in the beginning of a new year. After all, they encourage and make you feel like you somehow have control over your life. An attitude that is quite helpful, especially at the moment. To shift away from this incredibility paralyzing focus on the negative, on horror news, on climate-energy-health-global-economic-crises.

Yes, crises are reality. But what is also reality is that in this world there are more peace-loving, friendly, empathetic people than warmongers. That there is more creativity, more innovative capacity, and that there are more solutions than problems that we are facing. We need to do something. And we don’t mean the tenacious “Everything-will-be-fine-becauce-god-will-take-care-of-it-so-let’s-keep-on-doing-what-we-have-been-doing”. We mean the human ability of new thinking and to change. Because one can rely on themselves and on one’s abilities – because that is the definition of confidence. It does not mean to block out the reality – but to sharpen the perception, to see the bigger picture. To see possibilities and alternatives. Confidence is our biggest asset and a very strong engine.
