Here they are – the coffee favorites of the editorial team.
A very classic situation during one of our recent editorial meetings: We did not only brew one coffee, but we brewed 3 very different ones (and of course each one to its individual preparation method). After all, here in our “coffee lab” we are directly at the source of the whole variety of Mount Hagen coffees. That’s why we think it is quite logical that we make your mouth water a little by introducing you to our favorite ones. Of course, we know that they are not available in every country and that you can’t buy them online everywhere in the world – but maybe we will make you so curious that you will ask your coffee vendor about them. Who knows, maybe he will get a taste for it…

But who likes which one most?
For Kristin, our woman for everything web-related and any kind of life, shop, and digital question, it’s quite simple at the moment: Peruvian coffee is her absolute favorite. Because…
„…every time I brew it – with a hand filter, of course – it smells so amazing from the moment I am grinding it.
It’s like coming home, it gives me a cozy feeling. The interplay of nut and chocolate aromas is almost as if you were wrapped in something precious – of course, only figuratively. The Peru is truly opulent, indulging. Especially early in the morning, it’s such a magnificent start. This moment, no one can take it away from you. And of course, it belongs into the large Mount Hagen cup. It’s the perfect size, the perfect material. By the way, this is my second favorite – for the coffee. Oh and of course, the Peru coffee is also a Demeter coffee, which makes it even better, I think.”
Babette, creative director and unrestricted “master” of everything visual, has 2 two favorites:
“One is the single origin from Papua New Guinea as an instant. I can brew it in the dark with my eyes closed and take it to my bed as a super good morning coffee to wake up to – you don’t notice that it is an instant, it’s so delicious. For every other coffee break, it has to be the classic Arabica blend: A bit spicy, a bit nutty. It’s so elegant, fruity – I drink it all day long. Plus, it tastes great with oat milk.”
And me, the copywriter here at Mount Hagen, I’m a bit ambivalent at the moment: I usually love our classic espresso. Whether pure or as a cappuccino or latte. It’s strong, but also smooth. Some Italy vibes after a meal. An intense kick-start into the day as morning coffee. But I’ve just fallen in love with the Barista Crema. It’s a bit more complex, a bit more ticklish, more edgy. Not quite as dark roasted as the espresso, a little lighter perhaps even. My absolute favorite for the portafilter.
How about you? Do you have a favorite coffee? Tell us about it here in the comments, on Instagram, or on Facebook. We’re looking forward to it.
