Flourless lemon cake

Is that even a thing? Healthy cake? It is! This juicy lemon cake is not only made without flour – it is also extremely delicious and worth a little sin, although it is not actually sinful. You need to try it.

Our biggest asset: Confidence.

New year – new luck? Definitely. Optimism and confidence are our best and most important resources – that is at least what we at Mount Hagen believe. Here, you can read why we think that and what can be achieved by it.

A different kind of resource conservation

It is quite logical, that resources should always be treated with care. Interestingly, when we talk about resources we think about gas, oil, rare earths, water, or the Amazonas. But not about our own, individual resources. Something, that we can change.

It does still exist – the ideal world.

La Chacra d’ Dago, the Demeter coffee farm in Peru is a small paradise. And one of the foundations of Mount Hagen. Without the team respect – Dagoberto Marin and his three sons – our outrageously delicious single origin would not exist. It is all due to their know-how, their engagement, their work, that we can actually roast this rare Demeter coffee for you (unfortunately not available in all countries, yet). Reason enough to get to know the people behind it.

Respect – the foundation of extraordinary coffee.

You are not supposed to mix business with friendship – so they say. But having respect, working on eye level and in a constructive manner, are for us fundamental for a really good coffee, for our organic coffee. Why we believe that, you can read here.

You need… all leftovers from the day.

What can you do with leftover cabbage? Half a can of tomatoes? With the open pack of pasta? Leftover recycling is – in our opinion – also a form of respect. Thus, “dish instead of dump” is our motto and we gathered some ideas for you. Saving can be very tasty.

Raise your…cups!

This fall, there a more than enough reasons to feel depressed. But since that does not really make anything better, we have some ideas for you against the blues.

Respect – a big word.

Have we gone totally crazy now? Respect – that sounds old school. Conservative and not very dynamic – especially in difficult times like these. And most of all: What does that have to do with coffee? A lot, we believe. The lack of a respectful interaction with our surrounding – people and environment – got us where we are today: In various crises. Let’s make sure that we get out of there. With respect and good coffee.

One with everything.

Food waste is not only a huge problem – it is also a major lever to lower the costs for food, energy, and climate protection. If you try to treat food more respectfully. That’s why we have a little inspiration for you: A delicious recipe for pesto made from leftover cauliflower leaves. Very recommendable – as a spread or on pasta.

Courage to be independent: Shutting down…?

Energy conservation is not as hard as one might think. You simply need to change some of your habits. Which ones, and the effect of shutting down more often, we explain here.
